Care Support Worker

Palmerton North employer is seeking a Care Support Worker to join their team for day shifts Mon, Wed and Fri 4pm-9:30pm and Sunday 8am-9:30pm. You will work and assist an elderly lady supporting her to have a good life in her home with her whanau. This lady is a kuia in a multi-generational household. She has a very independent attitude towards life however, she needs assistance or direction with some everyday tasks. Duties will also include, basic household cleaning and organisation, meal preparation with dietary requirements, assisting with personal cares in a sensitive manner, advocation, communication and navigation, when necessary as well as transportation to appointments, outings and community events (vehicle provided. No experience needed but you MUST have patience. - personal experience of care giving within family is valued as a very whanau orientated environment.

Weekend availability is a must. Reliable, punctual, confidential, great sense of humour, ability to handle medical situations calmly (training provided), willing to submit police vetting check. No experience needed. Personal experience of caregiving within ones own family is valued. Orientation, ongoing support and training are provided. Knowledge in basic Te Reo Māori and tikanga would be an advantage.
