Weed Control Officer

We are looking for Biosecurity Weed Control personnel for the Top of the South. Mainly involves fencing and plant pest control e.g. Nassella. Previous experience in plant identification, landscaping, nursery, pest control, and fencing would be an advantage. The ideal candidate would have chainsaw experience, first aid and grow safe certificate but happy to consider anyone who is motivated to commit to training. Would consider any experience in outdoor work within Forestry or Physical labour roles. You will need a great attitude and have the ability to stay away if required. A high level of fitness with walking the hills is a must. You are paid from the moment you are picked up from your doorstep to when you are dropped off and return home again. Transport is available, pick up is from Blenheim. Casual contract initially leading into perm. role.

Previous experience in plant identification, landscaping, nursery, pest control, and fencing would be an advantage. Must have a high level of fitness with walking the hills. Be able to camp away for a week at a time if required but mostly working around Blenheim. Criminal convictions considered on case by case basis. Drug test required. Pre employment medical questionnaire to be completed, physical role.
