Timaru based Kiwirail branch is looking for Rail Operators to join their team. You will be working outside in freight rail yards in all weathers in a physically challenging role. You will be performing shunting duties such as link and unlink wagons, direct train drivers when coupling wagons and locomotives, place wagons into customer sidings (railway parking tracks). You will be an essential part of conducting safety checks ensuring that all vehicles in the train are in a fit state to commence the journey. This role involves some heavy manual handling and a reasonable amount of walking. You will be working on a 24/7 rotating roster, so previous experience working shifts is advantageous., along with experience working outdoors in all-weather conditions. $26.24 + time and a half Saturdays and double time Sundays, with opportunities to progression, including discounted travel and health insurance. Job Requirements

Must pass medical tests. Must pass drug and alcohol tests. Must pass MOJ. Must have full driving license. (Restricted if able to complete a full on employment). Must have own vehicle. Must attend a paid two week training. Must be physically fit. Must have had exposure to physical labour where Health and Safety was at the core of what you did.
