An OPPORTUNITY has arisen for two skilled and experienced Orchard Hands to join an orchard in the Motueka area. This role may also suit an up and coming horticultural professional, or others looking for a step up from their current position and/or potential to progress further in time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include undertaking a range of manual and machine operated orchard operations such as pruning, thinning, harvesting, spraying, tractor and forklift driving. Plus, for the right applicant, aspects of workforce supervision and quality control. ATTRIBUTES sought: This key role seeks workers who are practically minded, safety and quality focused, a self-starter with a can-do attitude, attention to detail, where needed willing to learn and can quickly come up to speed with what is required. The successful applicant must be willing to operate with safe techniques, understand orchard best practices and be good with numbers.
Job Requirements
To be successful you must have experience, your Full Class 1 Drivers licence and grow safe. Forklift preferred. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. Criminal convictions considered on a case by case basis.
