Caretaker, Maintenance and Repairs

We are on the look-out for a self-motivated Builder/ Handyman Leading hand to join our team. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for small scale construction projects and daily call outs for repair and maintenance of Council assets. This is a diverse role where no two days are the same so you will need to demonstrate a variety of skills which include extensive building and or hard landscaping experience and management of employees. Some days you will head out to your scenic outdoor office where you will spend your day on the tools completing anything from hard landscaping, installing, or repairing picnic tables and chairs, bollards, artworks, and shelters. On others you could be assisting the Team Manager conducting internal audits, pricing, and quoting for projects, organising subcontractors, and managing the team when required. You will have proven history in building construction, building maintenance and know how to interpret plans, proven experience overseeing projects, managing work schedules, and leading a team Be able to demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills You will demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely Experience in effective communication between key stakeholders, clients, interest groups and employees. A full NZ driver licence with ability to drive a manual. You will be committed to being part of a wider team with a strong work ethic and completing work to the highest standards.
