Health Support Worker

McGlynn Homes have residential homes in Dunedin and Mosgiel, they provide support to people with physical disabilities ensuring that everyone is treated as an adult. They encourage independence and choices. Staff are required to provide personal and daily support to residents with physical disabilities. Staff work in a home with residents all with physical disabilities. Most of the residents require the support of staff to shower, dress, provide bowel cares, provide meals or snacks, support with getting out into the community, support to transfer using a hoist and other daily tasks. Not all residents require the same level of support it is dependant on their condition. Must have a good sense of humour ,able to manage stress levels. Hold a current Licence. Exp. within the disability sector or in aged care is preferred.

If the person has experience in looking after others and providing personal supports,rehabilitation,kitchen,cleaning and gardening this would be helpful. Friendly personality and able to relate well to others is required. Good communication, writing and reading skills. Current first aid cert/ willing to get one.Current drivers licence.Pass MOJ, drugs .• 4 on 2 off 3pm to 9.30pm Saturday and Sunday 7am to 3pm Casual positions available
