Local Gisborne employer is looking for hard-working Traffic Control workers or labourers, machine operators and drivers who are keen to be trained in the profession. You will be covering areas from up Te Puia Springs way along East Coast between Gisborne and Opotiki Duties include but are not limited to Direct road traffic and pedestrian flows on, near, or adjacent to roads during road closures or part road closures using signs and devices to ensure the safety of workers, motorists and pedestrians; Reports to a Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS); Sets-up and removes traffic management infrastructure (e.g. signs, cones, barriers, automated controls) according to an approved Traffic Management Plan; controls and/or pilots traffic though a worksite. You will be working in all but extreme weather conditions wearing appropriate protective clothing as required. To be successful you will have awareness of relevant regulations, Traffic management, plan readings skills etc.

Job Requirements

You must be physically fit with the ability to stand on your feet for the day. Experience in a similar role is preferred however a keen and motivated person willing to learn the ropes in this career path, training is available. Holding a class 1 licence with TC, STMS, T, W and R endorsements or HT licence is an advantage. Must pass pre-employment drug test. Licence 1R minimum is a MUST. Due to the nature these positions, it would suit someone who is very physically fit
